For the first time in 60 years, The Dream of Gerontius, Edward Elgar’s epic work for double chorus & orchestra will be performed here in Guernsey with more than 150 musicians. The Choral Society are joining forces with Guernsey Music Service, [Rachel Wright], and singers from across the Bailiwick for this once in a lifetime event. Elgar’s setting of John Henry Newman’s poem tells the story of the man, Gerontius as he leaves this earthly life and embarks upon his journey to the next.
Come prepared for up-close encounters with Angels and demons along the way!
